Friday, May 22, 2009
Hey what's the deal? I have been either super busy or super lazy to blog. But hey I am here now right?
Let's see what's been going on...Hummm first thing let me give you an Angela update. She is home doing well. Griffen is still in the hospital but doing great! His last weight is was way over 4 lbs. He really is doing well. We are so happy for you guys!
Don't they look great!?!?!!
Oh BTW, Nicki has her drivers licence now. First time she tried passed with flying colors. Momma is still not completely satisfied with her experience yet. So more practice for Nicki. I do let her run short runs on her own to help build confidence. One Saturday morning Nicki gets up and decides she is going to be Daddy today. She puts on Richard work uniform and boots, she grabs his lunch box and drives to work! that kid is crazy fun!
Hey you haven't seen a picture of Pixie in a while? isn't she so cute?!!!! She really does good outside, she stays with us for the most part. Just with the road being so close I worry about it constantly!

Life Is Good!
Hey There!!! Can you see I received my new Cricut Expression today!!! Finally after 8 weeks of waiting it came in!! I am so excited! Can't wait to get chugging out some new stuff and now even bigger. I love creating new things with my Design Studio you never run out of things you can make! Now I have a situation, I have a total of 3 Cricuts now, plus the Pazzels Die cutting system. 4 machines, just too many! I am going to sell one of my baby bugs, and the Pazzels machine. So if you are interested, just hit me up!
Life is also good because I had my large all day crop Saturday and it was a great success! Everyone just raved about it and had a good time. I got to meet some new and very nice women. I loved every minute of it! I can not wait until the next one! I didn't take any pictures even though I should have! Also the new kitchen is working out great!! Richard has been doing a fantastic job! My man rocks socks!!!!
Life is also good because Angela and Griffen are out of the woods. Angela is doing better now. That child almost died. We thank God, for pulling her threw. Check out little Griffen.... He weighs 3lbs. 3 ozs. he's beautiful! I am going to post some of Angela's email to let you know all the technical stuff that happen. For those who don't know.
For those of you who already know, bear with me while I fill everyone else in. I am at Johns Hopkins hospital on the antepartum unit awaiting the arrival of our precious little boy who is just 29 weeks gestation this week. I have been here for 3 weeks today and am expected to remain here for possibly another 8 weeks. I have placenta previa and am expected to say on bed rest. There are several concerns with this condition especially due to my history of cesarean sections with the previous pregnancies. In addition, I am told that I must be near a NICU in case this little guy comes early. If I can hang on, they will deliver him at 36 weeks and no later. That date is June 10!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, Mike brought me a laptop today so I can send progress reports and get emails from all of you!! As you can imagine, sitting in the same room for this long is insane and I just want to go home. The laptop will certainly help!
Please be in prayer, this Wednesday, I will have another sonogram and if the placenta has moved up to its proper location, I can go home. If not, I will stay and they will repeat the sonogram in 3 more weeks. If I could just get home to the kids, I would be in much better spirits!
Sorry for the brief synopsis but I really am trying not to feel sorry for myself. I am trying to remember that I will look back at this and it is just a "blip" as many of you have described it!
Mostly pray for Mom and Mike. They are picking up the load with the kids while I am here. All of you know how much additional work that is on top of what they already have going on. Between the two of them, they have gotten the kids up here each weekend to see me. We even found a town home just a block away that families can rent for the night to see their loved ones at the hospital. The kids have spent the last two weekends there and have loved it! It's just a lot on Mom and Mike and prayer for their strength is needed.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Angela wrote this about 12;30 am. Then later that afternoon I get this email from Anita (Angela's sister)
Hello all,
I am writing this e-mail on behalf of Angela to update you on the most recent developments. Late last night Angela began to bleed severely again and was told they could no longer wait to deliver the baby. She lost over a liter of blood. At 9:30am they began surgery and little Griffon was born shortly after weighing in at 3lbs 3oz. The doctors are surprised he is in excellent condition for a baby of his age and his size is quite remarkable. Mike, Mom and I were able see him in the NICU and he is so beautiful. He is able to breath on his own with some assistance.
As for Angela, her surgery continued for another 5 hours. Luckily there was no sign of accreda however, her uterus was so damaged from prior c-sections it was unable to contract to stop the post-partum bleeding. They proceeded to do a partial hysterectomy to remove the uterus. In addition, they found the scar tissue on the uterus had adhered to the bladder. In the process of removing the uterus her bladder was damaged but should heal with time. She lost a significant amount of blood during her surgery, about 3.5 liters requiring a blood transfusion. She is now in the ICU under sedation for at least the next 24-48 hours at which time they hope to wake her to continue her recovery.
Please keep Angela and Baby Griffen in your prayers as they continue to recover from this arduous battle. I will do my best at keeping everyone updated on their condition.
God bless,
Anita (Angela's Sister)
Couple days later we get this email.......Thank you so much for your love, support and prayers throughout this process. Angela and Griffen are so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends.
Angela was woken up from sedation this morning. As soon as they removed the breathing tubes she started chatting away in true Angela style. She wanted to know everything that had happened and how her little baby was doing. She is resting comfortably now but still in the ICU. They hope to move her to a regular recovery floor later today. She may even be lucky enough to take a ride down to the NICU to see her baby boy!
Griffen is doing marvelous! They placed a PIC line this morning so he will not have to have a new IV placed every other day. The procedure went well and Mike said he has been flexing his lungs all morning!! He is a strong fighter just like his Mama!
I'll continue to keep everyone as updated as I can. Please continue to keep them in your prayers.
In Gods love,
Anita
Then today I get this beautiful email from Angela herself.
Hello to all!
I am so happy to be writing this email I can hardly stand myself! I really do feel as if I died and came back to life all in the past 7 days. While I didn't see any white lights, I do not underestimate for one second that only God could have taken such a broken body and so rapidly begun the process of restoration. Can I get an "Amen"!!
Today is such a good day. I am almost completely free of all tubes and poles. We are even discussing discharge options! I will let you know when that decision is made. I'm just so glad to be alive!
Griffen is so beautiful! Mike and I were able to hold him for the first time yesterday. It was amazing to finally connect with this little guy. He is breathing on his own, feedings have been increased and he is tolerating well. He was so alert for us yesterday. He would look at each of us as we were holding and talking to him with the most perplexed look, sort of like "how did I get here"! He is a miracle.
Thank you for all of your prayers. I felt them so deep the past several days. I woke up early yesterday morning still in some pain and asked Mike to turn on my new Kari Jobe CD that mom brought up. She is a new Christian singer I have recently discovered, if you haven't hear her, I encourage you to. I layed back and listened to her in my hospital room as I drew close to God and allowed him to lift me internally from this ordeal. It's not just a body thing you know. I felt each of your prayers during this healing moment. Thank you.
I will keep you posted as to any new progress!
Love,
Angela

Happy 18th Nicki!
My Nicki turned eighteen this past weekend. Where did the time go? We were asking her now that you are eighteen what are somethings you now can do? She said" I can buy lottery tickets, buy cigarettes (even though she doesn't smoke), serve her country in the military, and I am now responsible for my own actions". WOW, that made me smile. She is growing up!
We had a nice party here for her it was such a beautiful day. The weather was wonderful. The party lingered out on our new porch so we had lots of room. Her party started at 1pm and at 830pm the last guests were leaving. Even Dad stayed until 7pm. He had a good time talking to Derek and when his Mom wasn't looking, he would let him drink some of his homemade wine.Even Gavin had to get in the act. He wanted to know what Grandpa wine tastes like. He's just like his Grandpa!!!!!
After some wine Gavin needed some down time. Rick tried to get him to take a nap, but I don't think it ever happen. Maybe Rick wanted a nap too!Look at this cool center piece I made for Nicki. Cool huh?!?!!
Melanie and Geraldine were busy watching Kim and Jay carrying on. When them two get together all you can do is laugh! I believe they were talking about renting a 15 minute motel room. they are so crazy!
We had such a great day, that everyone wants us to get back together soon. Hi Kay!!! Isn't she looking so frinking good? You rock socks!!!!!
Thanks to everyone who join us for our celebration! You made it super special!!! We love you! Just a side note; Angela, Mike and kids were here, they left around 4 so Angela could go to work at the hospital. Well bad news, she started bleeding (she's pregnant, due in July). They flew her to John Hopkins Hospital in the ICU. I talked to her today the moved her out of ICU now and she's still bleeding, so they are giving her meds to try and help her. So pray for her and her little boy. Right now he is 2 lbs 4oz. they need to keep him in as long as possible.
Okay, now I need to get things ready for Saturday Night Crop. I have to see who is and who is not coming, then food and dessert. Always something to do. Until next time LOVE_YOU_MEAN_IT!!!!
