Okay Let's play catch up here.

Well, just a little, I can not catch you up all at one time; then what would I have saved to write?
Lets start with Sunday October 5th. It was a very nice Sunday around our house. We had a nice day watching the Redskins beat the Eagles!!!! GO SKINS!!!!!

We were taking it easy on our new porch, playing fetch with our puppy, Pixie. Rita, Jamie, and Casey come up and the kids decide to ride the 4 wheelers around the property. Rita and I went upstairs to upload some songs to her Zune. The next thing I heard was running threw the house. We ran down stairs and everyone was yelling call 911, Nicki, my 17 year old daughter wrecked the 4 wheeler!!

She was at the back of our yard behind our silo, down a little hill so I could not see her from the house. I was half way down there and everyone is yelling, screaming and crying. Call 911!!! I see Jamie on her cell phone, I just thought, "Use the house phone," it will show the 911 address, plus I knew she didn't know our address. It took everything I had to turn around and go back in the house and use that phone to call, I wanted to be down there with Nicki too, but, I knew I needed to make the call. The guy on the phone is very helpful, and is trying to keep me calm. he was asking me questions that I had no answers to, is she conscious? is she breathing? Is she bleeding??? I DID NOT KNOW!!!!!!! He finally told me lots of help were on the way, and for me to call back with answers to his questions. I said I would call him back, I never did.

I hung the phone up and I ran down there, (as fast as I can) which I do not even remember doing. All I remember was praying, "Dear God, let her be okay, God keep her safe!! When I peak the hill, I see her laying on the ground blood running all down her face, a big gash on the right side of her forehead. I go to her, I look at her eyes and tell her she is okay, she is going to be alright and help is on the way. No sooner I say that then here comes the rescue people. TONS!!!!!! They just swarm in there from every where. They start taking over Nicki. They started cutting her clothes off, her jacket, her pants, just like on TV. Asking her questions, like were you knocked out, she didn't know because she couldn't remember anything. She was.

This young man starts asking me questions about her, whats her name, how old, SS#, insurance information. They are loading her up on a back board, I am getting ready to get in my truck to follow them down the hospital. The next thing I know is the young man is telling me, No, we are flying her out on a helicopter!!!!! WHAT!!!???! WHY??!!?? The only answer I get is "Do you trust St. May's hospital?" She needs to go to a trauma hospital!

Now, I am really losing it, I'm shaking more than, ever, I was told I lost all my color in my face I turned completely white. It was bad. I tell the young man, please let her know she is going, she will freak out if you don't let her know. They loaded Nicki in the ambulance to monitor her and drive her to the big field beside our house, where the helicopter is going to land. I go to the ambulance and tell her "Nicki? Can you hear me?...... They are going to fly you out in a helicopter, YOU ARE OKAY!!!! ..............They just want to make sure you get the best care........... YOU ARE OKAY!!! " .................She heard me. Thank god.

It seemed like it took forever for the helicopter to come, like 45 minutes or more. They had to fly one out of DC. Park Police Chopper. All the Troopers were out, because of a helicopter crash the week before, killing 4. They had grounded them all, pending a maintenance check.
They finally loaded Nicki up, with Richard too, and they were off. It took them 17 minutes to get to Price George's Shock Trauma Hospital. It took me over 3 hours to get there.

As soon as I walked in the emergency room, where she was, I knew then, for sure she was going to be okay. Thank you, God!!!

She had a concussion, stitches in her head, her whole right side was hurting . Her shoulder was really hurting. But, she was going to be okay. They kept her a day and let her come home, with pain meds and lots of bruises, scratches, and soreness. But she was going to be okay. She spent the next 4 days and nights in my bed, we kicked Richard out and let him sleep in her bed. I needed her close, to make sure she was safe.

The following weekend we were going to the mountains, no kids, just grown ups. I was going to cancel, cause I couldn't leave Nicki. But............ We took her with us!

Fill you in on that in a few days with pictures......LOVE-YOU-Mean-It!!!
